The Demonic Accolade
After my villainous interest was renewed with NCsoft’s Going Rogue Complete Package, I wanted to get as many of the accolade powers I could get my hands on.
Being a Mastermind with limited defense and resistance, I simply wanted to enhance my ability to stay alive during solo runs or team oriented strike forces.
The Decision
After earning my Marshal Accolade, I decided to go after the Demonic Accolade next because other than the Soul Taker badge, obtained through a contact mission or Ouroboros, the other badges were either history plaques or exploration and defeat badges. All of which were easy to pursue.
The Demonic Accolade is the villain version of Hero side “Eye of The Magus” and grants a villain the Demonic Aura accolade power. When activated, the villain is highly resistant to all types of damage, except Psionics, for 1 minute. Bear in mind… you can only activate the power once every 25 minutes but it’s still a handy power to add to your arsenal.
This accolade requires the following 5 badges:
1. Coldhearted:
Defeat 100 cold demons, which can include Hordelings, Hordeling Berserkers, and Hellfrosts.
You can find Hellfrosts in Sharkhead Isle in Villa Requin and Potter’s Field. Both markers are on your City of Villains game map and shouldn’t be a problem for you to find. The Hordelings can be found in Cap au Diable around New Haven, Vagabond Hills, and Mount Diable. Naturally, if you hunt with a team it takes less time to accumulate the amount you need for the badge.
2. Forged by Hellfire:
Find the following exploration badge at the location listed below to earn this badge.
* [2] Sharkhead Isle: (1970, 64, -192)

This explorer badge is located in the Hell Forge neighborhood of Sharkhead Isle. You’ll travel west of the Hell Forge marker on your map until you see 3 large silo tanks. This badge marker is on the ground to the left of the tanks.
3. Lorekeeper:
Read the following History plaques at each location listed below to earn this badge.
* [1] Cap au Diable: (-1712, 0, -1108)
* [1] Mercy Island: (-902, 96, -378)
* [1] Port Oakes: (-1550, 35, 1945)
* [1] Sharkhead Isle: (-821, 0, -402)

This plaque is positioned at the base of a mountain between the New Haven and Mount Diable neighborhoods, northeast of Aeon City, in Cap au Diable.

I found this plaque 90 yards west of Mongoose, hiding between some metal shacks and the wall that splits the Mercy and Darwin Landing neighborhoods, in Mercy Island.

I traveled south of the Ferry to Mercy Island, in Port Oakes, to find this plaque. You can’t miss it sitting on top of a rocky cape.

This plaque is located at the south end of a parking lot, in Sharkhead Isle, just west of the Rogue Isles Ferry.
4 Overlord:
Find the following exploration badge at the location listed below to earn this badge.
* [1] Grandville: (1358, -441, -596.5)

I traveled .78 miles northeast from the Rogue Isles Ferry and 310 yards east of the North Ward – Beach Lift to locate this explorer badge. You will find it on top of a concrete bunker, just above the doorway.
5. Soul Taker:
Complete the “Offer Soul of Akarist” mission from Archmage Tarixus.
* [-] Sharkhead Isle: (793, 16, 1780)

Unlockable Contact.: Level 25-29
You must acquire the Lorekeeper History badge to unlock this contact in Sharkhead Isle or Ouroboros.
What if your character is over level 29?
Acquire the Lorekeeper History badge and run the “Offer Soul of Akarist” flashback content in Ouroboros. You’ll run two missions and receive Soul Essence — a Self + Recovery temporary power that lasts for 15 minutes, 3 reward merits, plus your Soul Taker badge.
NOTE: In Ouroboros, this flashback content is listed under the 30-34 content, not the 25-29.
Final Thoughts
I really like how easy it is to earn this particular Accolade. Basically, all you need is a little patience and the necessary time to kill cold demons and hunt down the exploration badges or history plaques. Unlike the Marshal Accolade previously discussed, the Demonic Accolade does not require a team to get the job done!
Happy Hunting!
